Electrodeionization (EDI) is an electrically driven water treatment technology used by XJY.

The electrodeionization (EDI) used by XJY is an electrically driven water treatment technology. Its module consists of chambers filled with ion exchange resins and separated by ion exchange membranes. After water flows into the module, an electric field perpendicular to the water flow is applied to force ions to pass through the resin and membrane, and impurity ions enter the concentrate (which can be discharged or recycled). Deionized water can be used directly or further purified.

 

The EDI module is like an ion exchange bed that is continuously regenerated by electricity. The H⁺ and OH⁻ produced maintain the regeneration of the resin, and the ions in the chamber are discharged into the waste liquid. This technology is limited by the maximum arrival rate of ions. If the ion load is too high, it is easy to overload. It is usually used after Reverse Osmosis. When the water hardness is high, it needs to be combined with a degassing process to remove carbon dioxide.

What is the workflow of XJY's Water Treatment Modules?

  1. Pretreatment: The raw water first passes through the pretreatment filter element to remove large particles and other impurities; then passes through the reverse osmosis device to intercept dissolved salts, etc.; finally, it passes through the adjustment filter element to adjust the water quality parameters.
  2. EDI treatment:The regulated water enters the EDI module and uses the electrodeionization technology to further remove ions.
  3. Post-treatment and storage:The treated water enters the water storage tank and partially circulates back. Then it passes through the deionization filter element to remove trace ions, ultraviolet light sterilization, and submicron filter to remove tiny particles. Finally, the produced water is output or sent to the analyzer for detection.

Low operating cost: Avoid acid and alkali regeneration, in line with FDA and GMP safety requirements for production environment. It not only saves acid and alkali procurement costs, but also reduces the cost of cleaning water.

Sustainable environmental protection characteristics: The entire treatment process does not produce acid and alkali wastewater, there is no need to worry about Wastewater Treatment problems, and there are no safety hazards in drug storage.

Continuous operation and uninterrupted water supply: It can operate and regenerate continuously for 24 hours, continuously and stably supply high-purity water, meet the uninterrupted water supply needs of industrial production, and improve production efficiency.

Precision desalination: Using homogeneous ion exchange membranes (such as Ionpure technology) combined with high-precision pretreatment, the removal rate of trace ions such as silicon and boron is >99.9%.
