Transform Africa's Water Future with Integrated Sewage Water Treatment Plant Solutions
In some parts of Africa, the aging and inadequate sewage treatment infrastructure is an urgent problem to be solved. The local climate is extreme, sometimes scorching hot, sometimes dry and rainy, and the mixture of domestic sewage and small industrial sewage poses a severe challenge to sewage treatment equipment, requiring it to be adaptable, stable and easy to maintain.

What are the pollutants in sewage water treatment plant in Africa?
Only 10% of wastewater in Africa is treated before discharge. Major sources include agricultural, mining, domestic and industrial wastewater, which contains pollutants such as biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), ammonia nitrogen (NH₄⁻-N), total phosphorus (TP), heavy metals (e.g. Pb²⁺, Zn²⁺, Cu²⁺), organic compounds and fecal coliforms.
Why does Africa need to sewage treatment?
More than 80% of the world's sewage is directly discharged due to lack of sanitary infrastructure, causing eutrophication, disease transmission and other problems. The situation is particularly serious in Zambia, Benin and Kenya in Africa - Benin's sanitation system is decentralized, Zambia's waste collection rate is only 10%, and about 90% of domestic sewage and 70% of industrial wastewater in third world countries are discharged without treatment.

To this end, XJY launched an integrated sewage treatment "powerful system" customized for Africa, integrating core equipment such as microfiltration, flotation, and aeration to efficiently solve the problem of direct sewage discharge.

What are the design goals of XJY integrated sewage water treatment plant?
1. Efficient treatment: meet the sewage treatment needs of African cities, industrial areas or communities, and the effluent quality meets WHO or local reuse standards (such as irrigation, industrial cooling water).
2. Low energy consumption: adapt to the problem of unstable power supply in Africa, and integrate solar energy/wind-solar complementary power supply.
3. Modular design: easy to transport, install and quickly deploy, and adapt to the needs of remote areas.
4. Sludge reduction: reduce sludge disposal costs and avoid secondary pollution.
5. Shock load resistance: adapt to the characteristics of large water volume fluctuations and high suspended matter content in Africa's rainy season.

What scenarios of integrated sewage water treatment plant can XJY customize for Africa?
Energy supply
Photovoltaic power supply system: Power aeration fans and control systems to reduce dependence on the power grid.
Backup diesel generator: To cope with rainy days or emergencies.
Climate adaptability
High temperature protection: The equipment shell adopts UV protection coating and ventilation and heat dissipation design.
Sand-proof design: Key components (such as fans and membrane components) are equipped with dust-proof filters to adapt to sand and dust environments.
Maintenance convenience
Modular structure: MBR membrane components, flotation machines, etc. can be quickly disassembled and replaced to reduce downtime.
Low-cost operation
Reduction of reagents: The flotation machine uses natural polymer flocculants (such as chitosan) to reduce the cost of chemical reagents.
Sludge resource utilization: Dried sludge is used for soil improvement or fuel to offset part of the treatment cost.
What are the application scenarios of XJY integrated sewage waste water treatment?
Urban communities: treat domestic sewage, and the effluent is used for flushing toilets and green irrigation.
Industrial parks: treat industrial wastewater such as food processing and textiles to meet recycling requirements.
Tourist resorts: decentralized treatment to protect the ecological environment.
Refugee camps or temporary settlements: rapid deployment to prevent the spread of diseases.

Where has XJY integrated sewage waste water treatment been implemented?
Project location 1: A seaside resort in Mombasa, Kenya
Treatment scale: 200 m³/day
Process flow: screen → air flotation machine → regulating tank → MBR → ultraviolet disinfection → reuse
Results:
Outlet COD <30 mg/L, SS <5 mg/L, reused for landscape water and toilet flushing.
The amount of sludge was reduced by 70%, and solar power supply accounted for 60%.

Project location 2: A traditional "Chibuku" brewery in Lusaka, Zambia
Treatment scale: 200 m³/day
Process flow: coarse/fine screen → air flotation machine → regulating tank → MBR → microfiltration machine → ultraviolet disinfection → reuse + sludge dehydration and drying
Results:
COD <50 mg/L, BOD <10 mg/L, TSS <5 mg/L, grease <15 mg/L;
Reused for cooling water, equipment flushing and irrigation, with a reuse rate of 60% (annual water saving of 43,000 tons). Sludge reduction: spiral dehydration + solar drying, sludge volume reduced by 75% (water content reduced from 99% to 60%).
Energy optimization: photovoltaic power supply covers 50% of energy consumption, reducing diesel consumption by 12 tons per year.

Investment and Return of XJY Integrated sewage waste water treatment
Initial investment: approximately US$150,000-250,000 (including solar energy system).
Return period: 3-5 years (through water bill savings and sludge resource benefits).
