       Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is an emerging technology that combines membrane separation technology and biological treatment technology, also known as membrane separation activated sludge method. The application of MBR technology can greatly increase the turbidity of the effluent, reaching the standard of direct discharge or even reuse of wastewater.

    ① Efficient removal of pollutants: MBR technology can efficiently remove common pollutants such as COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), suspended solids and turbidity. The effluent quality is good and usually can meet strict discharge standards or requirements for recycled water.  
    ② Complete separation of hydraulic retention time and sludge retention time:  MBR technology completely separates these two, enabling a longer sludge age (more than 30 days), thus improving the removal efficiency of refractory organic matter.  

    ③ High sludge concentration and low sludge yield: Due to the efficient separation effect of membrane components, the biomass concentration (MLSS) in the MBR system can be as high as 10,000mg/L, which is much higher than that of traditional processes.
